摘要: In an infrared communication system in which many units of different requirements can communicate with each other, transceivers are assigned to categories, its own transmitting power and receiving sensitivity depending on the required distance range. This allows simultaneous independent communications local areas between low power/sensitivity devices but enables also transmission over larger distances or whole devices. Depending relation distance, a potential receiver may either be able decode data signals correctly, it only detect presence carrier. To allow clear access protocol all cases, unit gets two chances reenter competition after having sensed carrier: Either upon decoding end delimiter, timeout equal longest possible packet time. A mixed-media network is obtained by attaching, via respective interface units, subnetworks interconnected cables use same as IR units.
