摘要: This article describes the development of a family-based, longitudinal HIV prevention program targeting urban, African American fourth- and fifth-grade children their families living in areas with high rates infection. The intervention is based on research findings Chicago Prevention Adolescent Mental Health Family Study, study 315 preadolescent (Paikoff, 1997). Results from this informed 12-week, family-based preventive intervention-the HIV-Prevention Project (CHAMP) Program. implementation also was guided by collaborative partnership between university researchers community members (parents school staff).
