摘要: The Chattanooga Shale of the southern Appalachian Basin contains a diverse conodont fauna high Givetian, Frasnian, and Famennian. predominantly fine-grained strata were deposited in an offshore setting where depositional packages are separated by unconformities. Conodonts allow regional global correlation these strata, recognition Frasnian-Famennian boundary, narrow biostratigraphic constraint two Frasnian ash beds, MN Zone 8 for Belpre Ash upper 13 Center Hill Ash. Three new palmatolepid conodonts described open nomenclature, holotype Palmatolepis regularis Cooper is reillustrated.
