摘要: Chapter 4 deals with flow-induced vibration of rotors and in particular the most important case, known as 'steam whirl', often appearing large steam turbines. Stability criteria, Thomas Criterion Torque-Deflection Number are applied compared. Vibration fluid annuli occurs due to dynamic interaction cylinders surrounding parallel or cross-flow. The integrated effect pressure forces generated results imbalance. Application Hurwitz-Routh determinants is used for checking stability conditions. Self-excited a rotating hollow shaft partially filled viscous liquid within certain range speed. Approximate solutions equations motion non-dimensional time-dependent radial circumferential velocity small internal element yield and, furthermore, limits rotor. marginal condition under which system becomes absolutely stable investigated.
