摘要: Caatinga biome features species with high therapeutic potential such as Aroeira do Sertao (Myracrodruon urundeuva Allemao) which has long history in folk medicine. This study aimed to chemically characterize the secondary metabolites of hydroethanolic extract and hexane, chloroform, acetate, fractions from Myracrodruon (Allemao) possibly responsible antioxidant antimicrobial activity, besides evaluate inotropic effect crude left atrium Cavia porcellus. Phytochemical composition was evaluated by spectrophotometry high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Antioxidant activity assessed 2,2-diphenyl-1-picryl hidrazyl (DPPH•) scavenging reactive substances thiobarbituric acid methods. Inotropic using isolated organ model. Data were expressed mean ± SEM differences determined ANOVA followed Tukey test. screening HPLC confirmed presence flavonoids, terpenes, tannins. Acetate Hydroethanolic showed inhibition DPPH values 81.56 93.28% respectively. On other hand, TBARS reduced 64.13% a concentration 150 µg/mL. acetate fraction concentrations 50 100 mg/mL zones between 11.00 20.50 mm suggesting against Enterococcus faecalis, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus mirabilis, Klebsiella pneumoniae bacteria Candida albicans. The model demonstrated that acts non-competitively antagonizing muscle calcium currents, decreasing force contraction about 60%. Flavonoids, terpenes tannins are for M. biological effects. Key words: Myracrondruon urundeuva, chemical composition, effect.
