摘要: Green synthesis of iron nanoparticles using a soil microalga, Chlorococcum sp. MM11, and their application in chromium remediation have been investigated. Spherical-shaped nanoiron was synthesized by treating the exponentially growing culture with 0.1 M chloride solution for 48 h incubating it under shaking dark. The appearance yellowish brown colour indicated biotransformation bulk into nanoiron. Morphological characteristics transmission electron microscopy (TEM) dynamic light scattering (DLS) confirmed presence spherical-shaped ranging size from 20 to 50 nm. TEM imaging also revealed localization on microalgal cell surface, inside as well outside cell. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) analysis involvement carbonyl amine bonds polysaccharides glycoproteins present algal wall bioreduction capping Phyco-synthesized were tested efficiency reducing Cr(VI), toxic environmental pollutant. results showed that reduced 92 % 4 mg L−1 Cr(VI) Cr(III) instantaneously, while only 25 %. Thus, high reactivity, greater stability environmentally benign economically viable properties can be phyco-nanofactories like MM11.
