摘要: Gastroesophageal reflux (GER) has been shown to be more frequent in people with asthma, but the mechanism by which it might aggravate asthmatic symptoms remains unclear. We compared effects on maximal expiratory flow at 50% of VC (MEF50) esophageal perfusion hydrochloric acid (HCl) and normal saline (NaCl) 12 subjects chosen random. In all subjects, HCl did not change MEF50 potentiated bronchoconstriction induced isocapnic hyperventilation dry air (maximal decrease = 44 ± 7% versus 22 5% NaCl; p < 0.001) or methacholine (provocative dose producing a 20% FEV1 349 99 µg 496 119 0.01). Seven were found have GER pH monitoring. these alone decreased slightly significantly (−17.5 5.5%; 0.05), possibly reflecting higher degree basal bronchial hyperreactivity observed this group. Thus, ac...
