摘要: Ultrasonographic imaging of small calcifications or similar hard bodies distributed in human breast tissue is enhanced by correlating an ultrasonographic data set with a radiographic image the same region interest. A “constellation” cluster distinguished from speckle noise cross-correlation, which quite sensitive to coincidence pattern targets both and images, notwithstanding presence random noise. An optical correlator preferably used perform high speed cross-correlations. The three-dimensional position individual calcification found projecting identified point image, along projection vector, voxel extreme density volumetric set. Multiple vector orientations are tested for correlation, accomodate any probable skew between projections.
