摘要: Abstract In this work, a simple approach was examined to prepare zwitterion-type lignin (ZL) in one-pot reaction system. Kraft (KL) modified with 3-chloro-2-hydroxypropansulfonic acid sodium salt (CHPSS) and glycidyltrimethylammonium chloride (GTMAC) an aqueous solution simultaneously. The maximum amounts of sulfonate (1.57 mmol/g) quaternary-N (2.16 mmol/g) groups on ZL were achieved under the conditions 7/1 molar ratio CHPSS/KL, 9/1 GTMAC/KL, 40 g/L concentration KL, 3/5 NaOH/KL, 4 h time 80 °C. chemical structure, thermal stability, surface activity compared those cationic (CL) sulfonated (SL) produced optimized conditions. signals for hydrogen, carbon, hydrogen‑carbon spectra 1H-, 13C-, HSQC-NMR indicated that sulfonation quaternization occurred both aliphatic phenolic hydroxy lignin. flocculation performance simulated dye wastewater further analyzed. main novelties work introduction process simultaneously impart anionic functional onto kraft lignin, development new biodegradable flocculant removing pigments from solution.
