摘要: This work presents an assessment of geochemical toxic metal stocking in top-soil within the area a limestone quarry Gombe State. Samples topsoil from (North-eastern Nigeria) were collected to analyse levels hazardous substances such as Hg, Fe, Zn, Ni, Mn, Cu, Cr, Cd and Pb. A total 24 samples around radius 0.5 km blasting arena. Additionally, six background also unexploited reserved that was ~6 far main sampling location. Two rocks analysed for heavy metals reference. All processed extracted with nitrate acid solution using smart spectrophotometer methods. The results suggested varying organic contents soil, sand, silt, clay pH. these parameters are correlated those samples. Limestone displayed high concentration Fe Mn improvement. Toxic concentrations (mg/kg) discovered Cd, Cr Residual phases exhibited lowest enrichment most possibly, because loamy sand content. situated advocates influence mining activities. especially geoaccumulation index exhibit below detected limit 0.20 mg/kg Pb which is uncontaminated by Lead when compared USA threshold particulate concentration. Conversely, other ranged 1 2, indicating contaminated moderately. exposure dust containing silica workers leads deterioration pulmonary function hence suggesting need protective measures workers.
