摘要: The study of RNA interference, in the form endogenous microRNAs (miRNAs) or exogenous small interfering RNAs (siRNAs), is revealing powerful regulatory mechanisms throughout biology. Though small, these short duplexes can lead to potent suppression their targets. Numerous miRNAs are dysregulated cancers, and several have been shown play oncogenic tumor suppressor roles. also pivotal development function central nervous system. Brain tumors, positioned at intersection both, strongly influenced by miRNAs. Early studies upregulated such as miR-21 miR-221/222 act an fashion, while underexpressed miR-124 miR-7 appear suppress brain formation. siRNAs offer novel targeted approaches treatment tumors. In this chapter we will discuss system, roles potential miRNA- siRNA-based therapeutic strategies neuro-oncology.
