摘要: BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVE: The effects of otitis media on the function central auditory nervous system in different populations is unknown. Understanding how history affects children from nations will guide health professionals worldwide importance adequate stimulus childhood. For this reason, aim present study was to investigate long-term middle ear disease temporal processing and P300 two children: Australian Brazilian. METHODS: Temporal tests (Frequency Pattern Tests-FPT Gaps noise-GIN) were measured 68 Brazilian children, aged between 8 14 years. group (BrOM) (AusOM) consisted 20 each who had a documented media. Control groups (BrControl AusControl) also recruited country, all with no RESULTS: BrOM showed significantly poorer performance (p<0.001) for FPT GIN compared BrControl. response longer mean latencies (p = 0.02) BrControls. AusOM significant delayed latency 0.04) AusControl. AusControls. differences other P300. Significant seen however cohorts groups. responses group. CONCLUSIONS: These findings support that although exist groups, can be demonstrated affect underlying mechanisms measures behavioral children.
