摘要: Progress in the treatment of medulloblastoma has resulted increased survival among children. However, effective treatment, especially radiation therapy, produces negative consequences cognitive development children, terms decreased intelligence quotients. Determining factors underlying this decrease may influence types rehabilitation needed by children who undergo for medulloblastoma. We review recent research on impact some that underlie deficits pediatric and adolescent survivors, i.e., verbal comprehension, perceptual organization, attention, processing speed. assess eight survivors with surgery, radiation, chemotherapy. Children were assessed twice after diagnosis, using Wechsler Intelligence Scale Children-Third Edition. A large capacity was evident, as measured quotients factor indices. raw score analysis 12 subtests performed, indicating a slower acquisition functions knowledge domains social perception, psychomotor skills. discuss issues reintegration, propose patients must include program reinsertion, addition to psychoeducational support.
