Communities, large and small, experiencing outbreaks enteric illness— diarrheas, dysentery, giardiasis, epidemic jaundice— reminiscent the presanitation days 17th century. Plans under way for First International Symposium on Day-care Center—Associated Infections to be held in June 1984 Minneapolis (Michael T. Osterholm, PhD, written communication, Nov 24, 1982). Concerned participants will include experts from universities, government agencies, private management well pediatricians, parents, educators, social workers.
