摘要: We studied the distribution of proto- and metazooplankton coupled with environmental factors in coast area around Kneiss Islands (Central Mediterranean Sea). Zooplanktonic communities were sampled during summer 2009 2010 at three stations. Our results showed difference suspended matter concentrations between (92.88 ± 7.15 mg L−1) (47.37 ± 23.12 mg L−1). Large variations N/P ratio recorded (6.94–36.76) due to direct influence variability concentration both dissolved inorganic nitrogen phosphate components ratio. Ciliates abundance peaked was 3 times more abundant than 2010. community composition dominated by loricate ciliates (75% total ciliates) naked (56% Copepods most present entire study period, comprising 30–96% community. Small planktonic copepods reached important abundance, particularly oithonids, found largely dominate (Oithona nana, 45% copepods) similis, 22% copepods). The small species Paracalanus parvus (54% also indicate that (1) very low, showing a possible predation heterotrophic dinoflagellates, (2) capable complete top-down control on phytoplankton ciliates, preference diatoms similar size shape (3) resistance compared may be explained their capacity escape grazing existence protective lorica.
