摘要: Kisspeptin receptor (KISS1R) signaling is essential for the hallmark increase in pulsatile GnRH secretion characteristic of onset puberty humans and experimental animals. Loss-of-function mutations KISS1R are associated with idiopathic hypogonadotropic hypogonadism humans. Also, confirmed association central precocious were identified kisspeptin KISS1R. These observations underscore role normal pubertal development. Moreover, investigation mechanisms underlying gain-of-function mutation indicates that duration critical this timing findings further endorse need to uncover mechanisms, as well yet-unknown proteins, involved each step signaling. This knowledge expected advance our understanding abnormal development, help non-hypothalamic tissues such placenta. chapter discusses recent advances function, potential pathophysiological implications naturally occurring reproductive disorders.
