摘要: Abstract Objectives To compare the effects of 25% and 35% hydrogen peroxide in-office bleaching systems on surface roughness streptococcal biofilm formation human enamel. Methods Enamel specimens (3 mm × 3 mm × 2 mm, n = 162) from permanent teeth were randomly divided into 3 treatment groups (n = 54 each): (1) control, (2) bleached with (Zoom2™), (3) (Beyond™). The enamel was measured by a profilometer before after treatments. Subsequently, treated placed subgroups (n = 18 each) incubated with: trypticase soy broth Streptococcus mutans culture sanguinis for 24 h. Biofilm quantified crystal violet staining. structure three each group visualized scanning electron microscopy. Data analyzed Kruskal–Wallis Mann–Whitney U tests Bonferroni corrections. Significance level set at p  Results Both significantly reduced comparing to control (p  Conclusion caused similar degrees reduction in roughness. Nevertheless, appeared markedly promote S. formation. Clinical significance increase early colonizer raised concerns over adverse plaque This should be further investigated vivo efficient emphasized high concentrations peroxide.
