摘要: [1] The satellite scatterometer QuikSCAT wind field has been available every 12 hours on Lake Superior since 19 July 1999. The data cover most of the interior area lake with a spatial resolution about 25 km. Driving three-dimensional circulation model by winds, we resimulated 1999 seasonal variability currents in Superior. A comparison was made our previous simulation results, which relied interpolated from moored buoys and land-based meteorological stations. driven winds improved coverage cold band during upwelling favorable events current jet downwelling observed along Keweenaw coast July–October statistical analysis shows that these improvements were mainly reflected low-frequency variation long-shore current, even though overall deviation between computed surface temperature measurably reduced. This study suggests constructed either plus stations or is not sufficient to provide reliable accurate coastal stratification mesoscale assimilated all weather measurement sites needed an forcing for physical model.
