A Smart Video Coding Method for Time Lag Reduction in Telesurgery

摘要: Abstract : In the future war against terror and new types of offensive activities away from home, telemedical systems, including a telesurgical system, may become standard military medical equipment. recent years, there have been significant technological advances in both telecommunications robotics. These made remotely operable telemedicine possible. However, key technology that rapidly encodes, transmits, decodes surgical video with minimum round-trip delay least influence by network jitter (random fluctuation delay) is not currently available. This paper presents special purpose coding method to support telesurgery, telemonitoring, teleconsultation, emphasis on telesurgery. Our utilizes advanced image processing algorithms which prioritize importance scene shown screen. prioritization performed according gaze map constructed based tracking eye movements remote observer. During congestion, our system processes data more aggressively transmits non-essential at reduced rates. As result, essential information necessary perform surgery protected deterioration.
