摘要: Homeothermy, poikilothermy. The metabolic processes described in the preceding chapter are associated with generation of heat, accordance laws thermodynamics. From point view this heat production is a side effect, but when one concerned differences body temperature and its control within animal kingdom fundamental interest. In group animals — that to which humans belong kept at constant level considerably above surroundings, owing high rate (“tachymetabolism”) governed by regulatory mechanisms. These homeothermic organisms. second (which includes, for example, fish reptiles), far less produced (“bradymetabolism”) ; only slightly ambient temperature, follows fluctuations latter (poikilothermic animals).
