Deactivation and regeneration of ZnO and TiO2 nanoparticles in the gas phase photocatalytic oxidation of n-C7H16 or SO2

摘要: Abstract In this paper, we examined the lifetimes of made-in-home ZnO and TiO 2 nanoparticles in gas phase photocatalytic oxidation n -C 7 H 16 or SO , especially investigated deactivation mechanism by utilizing surface photovoltage spectrum (SPS) X-Ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) testing techniques considering semiconductor chemical properties. The results showed that could almost be deactivated while keep most its activity. both deactivated. mainly resulted from conduction type change N-type before reaction to P-type after because adsorption products such as O, CO 3 on photocatalyst surface. addition, activity regenerated a nearly full extent washing drying.
