摘要: Background : The surgical treatment of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) has taken great strides in the last two decades. There have been no long term reported studies on AIS from India with documented followup. In this study we review a single team's series 235 surgically treated cases follow-up to six years. Materials and Methods Pre operative charts, radiographs MRI scans for patients were collected study. grouped into three groups where anterior correction fusion (n=47), posterior (n=123) combined release instrumentation (n=65) was performed. Each group divided subgroups based approach strategy (all screw construct or hybrid construct) used. Patients followed up coronal saggital plane corrections, apical vertebral translation (AVT), trunk balance back pain. percentage calculated each as well sub groups. Results incidence detected intraspinal anomaly is 5.9% 3.4% them requiring neurosurgical procedure along correction. Average major curve 66% all 58.5% group. better when constructs employed. Also, AVT constructs. corrections resulted compared eight (3.4%) complications series. paralleled published international standards. Conclusion Use pedicle systems obviated need costoplasty most cases. increased may warrant routine pre MR imaging needing treatment.
