摘要: We present an analysis of 39 X-ray luminous early-type galaxies observed with the ROSAT PSPC. Using multicomponent spectral and spatial fits to these data, we have measured halo abundance, temperature, luminosity surface brightness profile. compare measurements similar results from galaxy groups clusters, fitting a number relations commonly used in study larger objects. In particular, find that σ ‐T X relation for our sample is reported consistent βspec = 1, L X‐T has steep slope (gradient 4.8 ± 0.7) comparable found groups. Assuming isothermality, construct three-dimensional models galaxies, allowing us measure gas entropy. no correlation between entropy system mass, but do trend low-temperature systems reduced fractions. conclude are likely developed their haloes through winds, influenced by surrounding environment.
