摘要: The Moving to Opportunity (MTO) demonstration assigned housing vouchers via random lottery public residents in five cities. We use the exogenous variation residential locations generated by MTO estimate neighborhood effects on youth crime and delinquency. offer relocate lower-poverty areas reduces arrests among female for violent property crimes, relative a control group. For males crime, at least short run, but increases problem behaviors arrests. gender difference treatment seems reflect differences how male youths from disadvantaged backgrounds adapt respond similar new environments.
