摘要: On irradiation with visible and UV light, fullerenes C60 C70 give high yields of their triplet states. Fluorescence is very weak from both, phosphorescence has been observed only C70. The states are also formed efficiently by energy transfer sensitizers energies above 35 kcal/mol. Triplet to oxygen, giving singlet molecular but they react quench oxygen inefficiently, making them excellent photosensitizers. easily reduced difficult oxidize. Electron occurs readily electron donors produce the radical anions. can be oxidized excited high-potential photosensitizers cation. Some dihydrofullerenes state on irradiation. Photoreaction electron-rich compounds appears an efficient route difunctionalized adducts.
