摘要: The spectrum of pulmonary infections in patients with lung cancer is wide, and tools for target-oriented infection control measures are necessary. In this retrospective study we report the microbiological pneumonia (based on results sputum culture) a case series Turkish malignancies.Between 2010 2011 total 119 (111 males 8 females, mean age: 59.8 ±9.6 years) were identified at Department Medical Oncology two Universities (Uludag University, Bursa Cumhuriyet Sivas). Expectorated samples collected sterile specimen containers processed immediately hospital bacteriology laboratory.Of patients, 92 (77.3%) had positive isolates from cultures. most frequent isolate was Aspergillus fumigatus (n = 22), followed by Haemophilus influenzae 13) Pseudomonas aeruginosa 12). likelihood having culture significantly independently associated febrile neutropaenia (OR 1.32, 95% CI: 1.17-3.68, p < 0.05) development within first 10 days chemotherapy initiation 1.78, 1.37-4.12, 0.01).We conclude that isolate, but high diversity pathogens clearly challenges empirical use antimicrobial drugs.
