摘要: This article examines the association between evaluative and knowledge components of self. Four studies tested hypothesis that self-concepts low-self-esteem (LSE) people are characterized by less clarity or certainty than those high-self-esteem (HSE) people. LSE Ss exhibited extremity self-reported confidence when rating themselves on bipolar trait adjectives (Study 1), temporal stability in their ratings over a 2-month interval 2), congruence subsequent perceptions situation-specific behavior memory for prior 3), internal consistency, lower self-rated confidence, longer reaction times making me/not me responses to pairs opposite traits 4). Alternative accounts results implications self-concept understanding pervasive impact self-esteem discussed.
