Peak numbers found August or early September. Whales arrived 1–2 wk later 1982 than 1981. sighted both 1981 remained about 3.7 mo one whale for at least 4.9 mo. Humpback from wintered Hawaiian Mexican waters, but generally did not travel other feeding regions. The most rapid migratory transit between Hawaii was 79 d. Based on mark-recapture analyses photographic data, we estimate a population 270–372 herd.
