摘要: Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is an infectious disease that has been a cause of nosocomial infections since the 1960s, but more recently become emergent in community settings. MRSA develop outside hospitals have associated with risk factors such as young age, recent antibiotic use, contact health care, and dermatological conditions. To provide descriptive epidemiological data evaluate potential factors, we undertook case-control study Allegheny County residents laboratory-confirmed methicillin-sensitive S. (MSSA) cultures from January through August 2007. A random sample each group was contacted interviewed using standardized questionnaire. Comparing 54 culture-positive to 50 MSSA residents, found having reported self history (p<.001), household member or hospital (p=.041), living setting (p=.032) were significant risks positive culture. These findings public significance because greater number people infected colonized by MRSA, reservoir will continue grow, resulting increased morbidity mortality disease.
