摘要: KBr and KCl crystals are purified by zone refining, using either fused quartz or graphite crucibles. The extrinsic ionic conductivity of the material has been lowered a factor 200 for 1000 KCl. residual content divalent ions order 10−8 to 10−9. detailed temperature dependence gives evidence an association with cation vacancies at lower temperatures. binding energy these complexes turns out be 0·52±0·04 eV in 0·56±0·04 Ca++-impurities. From very pure activation vacancy mobility can estimated 0·77±0·02 0·65±0·02 KBr.
