摘要: Coastal processes have been monitored for the Tugun desalination plant over a year by attaching 1 MHz Sontek Argonaut ADCP and YSI 6600 CTD to an in-house designed seabed platform with data being downloaded every two weeks raising instruments surface, manually transferring via interface cable laptop computer re-deploying system seabed. Analysis of results indicate sporadic internally trapped waves travelling northward along East Australian coast may be "cold dirty water" described local fishermen whose sediment transport budget impact under-estimated current coastal hydro-dynamic models. Further investigations are underway. The discussed in this paper upgrades labour intensive methodology as it allows downloading undertaken leaving in-situ. By including acoustic modem between unit surface buoy addition Campbell Scientific CR1000 wireless link mesh radio network can established linking shore. Real-time interrogation then occur allowing immediate confirmation equipment functioning correctly management decisions made using up date data. Whilst fundamentals not new, novel capability is additional units into monitoring area which immediately picked added network. Utilising capability, series stations daisy chained away from shore based receiver station comprehensive array sensors covering wide area. Furthermore, modular construction utilised many other applications that require remote sensing recording advantage real-time display back central command node or WWW.
