Isolation of the Fundamental Polypeptide Subunits of Biological Membranes

摘要: Abstract A group of peptides (some or all them glycopeptides), molecular weight about 5000, has been shown to be a major fraction biological membranes. These „miniproteins” have prepared from membranes human and bovine red blood cells, purified liver mitochondria, the rhodopsin-containing outer segments retinal rods. While miniproteins were found in large amounts each case, other protein components differed markedly depending on function membrane studied. This fact was particularly clear case rod where only proteins detected rhodopsin.
