Education in Remote Areas from Teacher's Perspectives: a case study of East Kalimantan, INDONESIA

摘要: Remote school districts with restricted access to teacher resources inherent extraneous challenges in educating youth. It is argued that quality of teachers remote areas inferior big cities East Kalimantan. Improvement on incentive ditto teaching skills, and establishment better facilities for education local economy are proposed play a key role increasing the areas. Kalimantan selected as case study this research accordance its potential development capacity significant economic surplus from natural exploitation. All data were collected analysed respective government bodies, non-profit organization reports, newspaper pages personal experience urban area during 2003-2009. Students ratio was reasonable, but converged suburbs than rural Teachers villages did not have sufficient competence pursuing rapidly refined policies, e.g. educational curriculum. As conclusion, background should be creatively developed, only conferring marginal scholarship also offering just inducement salary. Apart working inadequate provisions, areas, by large proportion, more dedicated their responsibility. Upgrading requires superfluous efforts. Decentralisation policy can put into practice incentive, inducing frequent trainings especially deployment new curriculum, establishing addition encouraging economy. Community supports instating innovative programs school, allotting time voluntary providing internships, constructive feedback endowment would contribute improvement expected paper act reference decision-making pertaining enhance national Indonesia.
