摘要: Vicuna is a wild, endangered species of Andean camelid living in the hyperarid plateau. In central part plateau, Lithium Triangle defines zone with lithium-rich salt pans. Brine pools naturally form within pans, and adaptation strategy vicuna consists drinking from brine pools. Together reporting first chemical data on bones teeth, we analyzed lithium, boron, arsenic water brines, aim assessing their relation to chronic exposure by ingestion. We collected specimens lying an pan, together samples. samples are highly saline contain large amounts arsenic. (13.50-40 mg kg-1 ) boron (40-46.80 mg kg-1 ), but not arsenic, were found teeth. Based our results previously reported human tissues Andes, conducted statistical assessments relationships between lithium body samples, discuss environmental significance context Triangle.
