摘要: Clostridium cellulovorans uses not only cellulose but also xylan, mannan, pectin, and several other carbon sources for its growth produces an extracellular multienzyme complex called the cellulosome, which is involved in plant cell wall degradation. Here we report a gene cellulosomal subunit, pectate lyase A (PelA), lying downstream of engY gene, codes enzyme EngY. pelA composed ORF 2,742 bp encodes protein 914 aa with molecular weight 94,458. The amino acid sequence derived from revealed multidomain structure, i.e., N-terminal domain partially homologous to C terminus PelB Erwinia chrysanthemi belonging family 1 lyases, putative cellulose-binding domain, catalytic PelL PelX E. that belongs 4 duplicated (or dockerin) at highly conserved enzymatic subunits C. cellulosome. recombinant truncated cleaved polygalacturonic digalacturonic (G2) trigalacturonic (G3) did act on G2 G3. There have been no reports available date genes Clostridia.
