摘要: A study was conducted to assess the genetic diversity among Simmental Cross cattle in West Sumatra using microsatellite DNA markers. total of 176 individual blood samples used for obtaining samples. Twelve primers loci as recommended by FAO were identify population. Multiplex fragment analysis method allele identification. All this highly polymorphic and all identified alleles able classify population into several groups based on their distance. The heterozygosity values ranged from 0.556 0.782. polymorphism information content (PIC) value 12 observed is high (PIC>0.5). highest PIC 0.893 (locus TGLA53), while lowest 0.529 BM1818). Based distance value, subpopulation Cross-Agam Cross-Limapuluh Kota exceptionally close Purebred thus indicating that a grading-up process has taken place with Purebred. In view advantages possessed evaluation results, number subpopulations can be considered initial (base) breeding programs Sumatra, Indonesia.
