Similar Structural Dynamics for the Degradation of CH3NH3PbI3 in Air and in Vacuum

摘要: We investigate the degradation path of MAPbI3 (MA=methylammonium) films over flat TiO2 substrates at room temperature by means X-ray diffraction, spectroscopic ellipsometry, photoelectron spectroscopy, and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy. The dynamics is found to be similar in air under vacuum conditions, which leads conclusion that occurrence intrinsic thermodynamic mechanisms not necessarily linked humidity. process has an early stage, drives starting tetragonal lattice direction a cubic atomic arrangement. This stage followed phase change towards PbI2 . describe how this product structurally coupled with original through orientation its constituent PbI6 octahedra. Our results suggest slight octahedral rearrangement after volatilization HI+CH3 NH2 or MAI, relatively low energy cost. experiments also clarify why reducing interfaces internal defects perovskite enhances stability material.
