Investigation of the explosive hazard of mixtures containing hydrogen peroxide and different alcohols

摘要: The explosive properties of mixtures aqueous hydrogen peroxide (H(2)O(2)) and different alcohols (R-OH) like 2-propanol (2-PropOH), 2-methyl-2-propanol (TBA), 2-methyl-2-butanol (TAA) 2-methyl-2-pentanol (THA) were investigated. Among others, the potential hazard such may be characterized by their ability to react mechanisms an explosion in condensed phase, e.g. thermal or detonation. Accordingly, experimentally investigated either heating them up under confinement autoclaves exposing a shock wave impact applying steel tube test. results are discussed compared literature data.
