摘要: In recent years, research on “insect properties” has been attracting much attention for industrial applications of insect technology. This is a new field that attempts to analyze specific physiological properties insects develop technology helping humankind. The term used refer “specific biological functions insects” since around 1986, and it now widely accepted in Japan. From 1996, the National Institute Sericultural Entomological Science (NISES) promoted “Research utilization as “Center Excellence (COE)” project funded by Technology Agency. At this point, called was initiated, led recognition academic community. 21st century, remarkable results, including development transgenic silkworms full decoding silkworm genome, have achieved.
