摘要: Iron deficiency anaemia (IDA) is one of the most severe and widespread nutritional disorders in world. Children pregnant women resource-poor areas represent vulnerable groups. impairs cognitive development children from infancy through to adolescence. It damages immune mechanisms associated with increased morbidity rates. commonly develops after six months age if complementary foods do not provide sufficient absorbable iron, even for exclusively breastfed infants (World Health Organization [WHO] et al, 2001). The WHO recommends universal iron supplementation when prevalence more than 40% (WHO, 2004). In Eastern Mediterranean regions there an endemic high iron-deficiency (Verster, 1996) due low total intake, bioavailability (in many diets over 80% non-haem origin) intake inhibitors absorption (unleavened bread tea are consumed large amounts everywhere). Anaemia stunting Gaza have always been found be very recent years (Abdeen, 2002; Rahim al 2009).
