摘要: The function of the eye lens is to collect and focus light on retina. To do so, it must remain clear during decades life. Upon aging, constituents are damaged precipitate in opacities called senile cataracts. Laboratory epidemiologic data indicate that damage due part active forms oxygen. Antioxidant nutrients — ascorbate, carotenoids, tocopherol appear offer protection against cataract.
