摘要: Purpose Cordycepin, a natural product isolated from the fungus Cordyceps militaris, is potential candidate for breast cancer therapy. However, due to its structural similarity with adenosine, cordycepin rapidly metabolized into an inactive form in body, hindering development as therapeutic agent. In present study, we have prepared nanoparticles poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) and compared their cellular uptake, cytotoxicity hemolytic free cordycepin. Materials methods Cordycepin-loaded PLGA (CPNPs) were by double-emulsion solvent evaporation method. Physico-chemical characterization of was done zetasizer, transmission electron microscopy (TEM) reverse-phase high-pressure liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) analyses. Cellular uptake CPNPs drug tested human cells (MCF7). Hemolytic both these forms evaluated rat red blood (RBCs). Results revealed that spherical shape, possessed size range 179-246 nm, released encapsulated sustainably over period 10 days. exhibited high level than MCF-7 cells. While not toxic RBCs even at concentrations, induced hemolysis relatively low concentration. Conclusion Our results reveal delivery could enhance clinical efficacy substantially.
