摘要: Current focus in colorectal cancer (CRC) management is on reducing overall mortality by increasing the number of early-stage cancers diagnosed and treated with curative intent. Despite success screening programs down-staging CRC, interval rates are substantial other strategies desirable. Sporadic CRC largely associated lifestyle factors including diet. Polyphenols phytochemicals ingested as part a normal diet, which abundant plant foods fruits/berries vegetables. These may exert their anti-carcinogenic effects via modulation inflammatory pathways. Key signal transduction pathways fundamental to association inflammation disease progression those mediated NF-κB STAT, PI3K COX. Our aim was examine evidence for effect dietary polyphenols intake tumor host responses determine if be effective intervention. There good epidemiological reduction risk from case-control cohort studies assessing polyphenol intake. It would premature suggest major public health intervention promote consumption; however, change safe feasible, emphasizing need further investigation risk.
