Synthesis of multiphase intermetallic compounds by mechanical alloying in Ni–Al–Ti system

摘要: Abstract In this paper, we based our investigations on the isothermal (900 °C) of Ni-rich corner Ni–Al–Ti phase diagram and chose compositions corresponding to corners inner tie-triangle equilibrium proceed high-energy ball milling. Nano-crystalline Ni(Al,Ti), Ni 2 AlTi 3 (Al,Ti) phases in system were synthesized by mechanical alloying elemental powders a horizontal rotary mill. The crystallite size was finest ∼7.5 nm when co-exist after prolonged Formation kinetics also analyzed using Johnson–Mehl–Avrami (JMA) equation. Avrami exponent n is less than 2.5, which indicates that reaction solid solution formation diffusion controlled. After annealing milled at 1150 °C for 2 h then 900 °C 100 h, very clearly.
