摘要: Abstract Laminar steady-state natural convection in a two-dimensional rectangular open cavity is investigated numerically. Isotherms and streamline plots are obtained shallow with aspect ratio of 0.143 for Rayleigh numbers up to 106 using constant properties Boussinesq approximations, by imposing approximate boundary conditions at the opening. This method has been tested compared cases where computations carried out into an enlarged external domain. Results show that outgoing flow patterns heat transfer results governed strong characteristics heated cavity. These findings compare favorably experimental Ra = 106.
