摘要: In this paper we describe the design, construction and operation of a micropump that delivers continuous, ultra-low flow velocities at ~100 μm s−1. The pumping concept is based on commonly observed phenomenon transpiration in plant leaves. A liquid meniscus pinned inside microchannel by selective hydrophobic patterning evaporation rate controlled. controlled evaporative flux results regulated from reservoir to meniscus. Using technique, precise control (5 nl min−1) has been achieved several channel geometries for extended periods time (~2 h). Various factors affecting performance pump were studied theoretical predictions along with experimental are presented. Such could find applications emerging biological assays such as single-molecule studies DNA cell adhesion analyses.
