摘要: In conservation, as in most other subjects, there is a division of expenditure into problem identification, solution testing, and practice. However, research concentrates on identification rather than testing. We calculate the return investment (a PhD thesis) examining effectiveness conservation interventions for birds prey three European countries. show that economic from investing thesis could be substantial, order hundreds thousands euros over 10 years or between 292% 326% period. derived values by first setting common biological target (the total number raptor fledglings produced per year). then compared overall costs achieving such via wide implementation results (i.e., allocating resources to effective intervention) versus business usual scenario. identify theses also considerable benefits improving effectiveness. suggest further would cost‐effective
