摘要: Abstract Trauma to the spinal cord is associated with breakdown of blood–spinal barrier (BSCB). However, detailed mechanisms and pathophysiological significance BSCB disruption in injury (SCI) are still unclear. It appears that several secondary factors release neurochemicals contribute breakdown, leading vasogenic edema formation cell injury. This review critically examines this hypothesis based on recent findings our own investigations. New data suggest trauma–induced instrumental pathology. Thus, drugs or compounds attenuating SCI could be promising therapeutic agents near future.
