摘要: Although pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) has dramatically impacted HIV prevention, deep engagement with PrEP-takers' own accounts of their sexual behavior is still rare. We report findings from semi-structured interviews male participants the US PrEP Demonstration Project. In narratives, interviewees variously foregrounded individual selves, interactions partners, and biopolitical historical context lives. served to discursively integrate multiple selves populating these stories. argue that medical anthropological notions can help make sense men's accounts, PrEP's role in them, advancing a holistic conception personhood includes but transcends concern HIV.
