摘要: Small doses of epidural and intrathecal opioids produce effective prolonged analgesia postoperatively, although the quality does not differ from when conventional routes are used. The different only in speed onset duration action, incidence side-effects. 'Minor' complications such as nausea, vomiting, pruritus retention urine relatively common. There is a small respiratory depression which delayed for several hours after drug administration may be prolonged. It commoner morphine administration, also associated with advanced age, concomitant use other central depressant drugs, disease large doses. Because potentially lethal nature this complication, it recommended that used patients can closely constantly observed postoperatively.
